It is not the human intuitive to work in a team, but it is an organization strategic goal to create motivated teams, in teamwork we should see corporation that is come from leadership who has specific goal in each member in the team, those individuals goals must be measurable.
So, you (the manager) should define key goals and objectives of what you expect from the team. And ensure you are consistent with and supportive of the IT Department strategy you’re in and the overall IT organization strategy.
