IT Staff Member:
Each staff member should be given measurable objectives that support the organization objectives they are a part of.
One of the best means of accomplishing this is by developing performance plans for each individual. Most managers look at this requirement as a real “pain in the neck”. It absolutely can be, but it may also be one of the best employee motivators you have, especially in IT.
Performance planning sessions and review sessions are real quality times for an employee and manager.
List the member objectives in an objectives list for each individual in the company, the objective is, what’s really important to him, and what he will have to accomplish in the job to be successful, is it a career goal or Performance goal? Then help him to catch what he want, that is a good motivator. Objectives should include:
§ Education/training
§ Responsibility areas
§ Levels of performance (productivity and quality)
§ Specific project successes
§ IT process adherence
